Our association was founded by Sabine Valentin after she spent nine weeks as a volunteer in an AIDS prevention project in Langbinsi in the north of Ghana from December 2011 to February 2012.
In 2012, your hosts Richard Bindifrim and his wife Lamisi Yerrow planned to build a kindergarten and a school where the children would learn English from kindergarten onwards. Being able to speak English is important, as all secondary schools in Ghana are taught in English.
The school now has fifteen classrooms. These house the nursery, kindergarten, pre-school, primary school classes from grade 1 to 6 and the junior high school (grades seven to nine).
In the 2024/2025 school year, 264 children in the nursery, kindergarten/preschool aged two to seven, 327 primary school pupils in grades one to six and 79 junior high school pupils (grades 7 – 9) will be taught by fourteen teachers and educators. This means that 670 children now have the chance of a better education.
Richard Bindifrim, Lamisi Yerrow and the people of Langbinsi have achieved a great deal in recent years, but there is still much more to come. There are many ways to help children in Ghana/Langbinsi to have a good future through quality education.
